The Senior Labor Relations Specialist partners with Group Health leadership and management in the implementation of strategic labor relations plans across the organization. Leads and conducts contract negotiations (CBAs) and contract administration in accordance with labor strategy and applicable laws. Provides strategic labor relations advice to managers, supervisors, Labor Relations Analyst and Human Resource Consultants. Helps establish and maintain productive working relationships with union leadership. May manage and develop other labor relations staff and administrative staff as assigned. Designs, teaches and implements labor relations training.

Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree Bachelor Degree in business administration, public administration, human resources management, industrial relations or related field.
Masters Degree Master Degree in the same fields or Law Degree.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Thorough knowledge of state and federal labor relations and employment laws and regulations, principles of contract administration, collective bargaining techniques and compensation theory required. Strong leadership, negotiation, human relations, critical thinking, persuasion, problem solving, analytical, oral and written communication and presentation skills required. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage professionals and counsel, teach and work with others at all levels. Superior communication skills required. Proficiency in PC environment.
Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirements
8 years experience in labor relations including participation in contract negotiations, bargaining in positional and interest-based styles, appearing in labor board and/or arbitration hearings, experience in adjudicating disputes through formal grievance process. Five years in an HR leadership or managerial experience. Three years experience in project management.
Experience in a health care organization setting, as well as experience in labor interruptions, job actions, or strikes.
