Assists the Legal Recruiting Manager in working with the Hiring Partners and the Summer Associate Committee in examining and implementing the Washington office recruiting strategy and initiatives. Active participant in law student and clerkship hiring. Manages all aspects of the Summer Associate Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:GENERAL:
Assume management role in Manager's absence.

Attend monthly WALRAA meetings.

Prepare interview schedules for entry-level and summer associate candidates and law clerks.

Greet and host candidates during the day and provide required information to all candidates.

Coordinate and monitor follow-up for entry-level and summer associate candidates and law clerks (including dinners).

Oversee data regarding each candidate that has interviewed in the Washington, D.C. office.

Prepare and organize National Association for Law Placement (NALP) forms and law school reporting forms.

Maintain status charts and offer charts.

Participate in recruiting conference calls with other offices on a regular basis.

Coordinate all correspondence and recordkeeping of active and inactive applicants.

Organize National Youth Leadership Forum meetings twice a year.

Provide candidate information and feedback to Legal Recruiting Manager and Hiring Partners.

Produce recruiting reports for Legal Recruiting Manager and Hiring Partners.

Creates student interview schedule.

Organize fall kick-off' meeting.

Coordinate and attend hospitality suites at schools as needed.

Schedule and attend meetings for Legal Recruiting Manager, Hiring Partners and on-campus interviews teams to discuss call back decisions and relaying of call back offers to students.

Coordinate call back decisions with other offices to ensure there is no overlap.

Organize sell' dinners at schools for candidates who have offers outstanding.

Review and edit Lawyer Recruiting Manual.

Manage all aspects of the summer associate program, updating the Summer Committee Chairs and the Legal Recruiting Manager on a regular basis.

Act as first point of contact for Summer Chairs and summer associates.

Handle any summer associate personnel issues.

Prepare draft calendar of events.

Plan and organize all aspects of the Summer Associate Program including update of summer manual, assignment of summer mentors, mentor groups, summer advisors, orientation schedules, office assignments, and secretarial assignments.

Track all summer associate work assignments and evaluations using the Firms extranet.

Work closely with Summer Chairs and Summer Committee to ensure that Summer Associate Program is running smoothly.

Plan and attend all Summer Committee meetings.

Plan, organize and attend all summer activities (social, training, et cetera) including evening and weekend events.

Update, distribute, and collect summer associate new hire paperwork.

Oversee the conflicts process for summer associates.

Organize, prepare materials, and attend offer meeting.

Supervise Legal Recruiting Assistant, assigning summer program tasks as appropriate, including but not limited to assistance with event planning, preparation of orientation and summer program materials, general administrative tasks.

Manage summer intern.

Maintain and updates content of Sidleys summer associate extranet site.

Organize and attend receptions at schools (fall and/or spring) as needed.

Work with the Legal Recruiting Manager to identify areas where the Firm can become active and involved at law schools.

Coordinate participation in other events such as pro bono fairs, alumni functions, et cetera.

Attend Womens Committee dinners in both summer and winter.

Attend all Womens Committee meetings and Sub-Committee meetings.

Active participant on the D.C. Diversity Committee.

Attend all D.C. Diversity Committee meetings and Sub-Committee meetings.

Assist in the planning and coordination of the D.C. 1L Summer Mentor Program and Diversity Dialogues.

Education and/or Experience:Required:
Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited college or university

A minimum of three years of attorney recruiting experience

Proficiency in MS Office Suites

Law firm experience

Law school recruiting experience

Prior supervisory experience
