(3) Active Montgomery County local fire and rescue department volunteers with at least 50 points under the length of service award program; or
(4) Active Montgomery County Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, Project SEARCH Interns or former Montgomery County Customized Employment Public Interns, QUEST Interns, or Project SEARCH Interns within 24 months of completion of internship.
This is a term position scheduled to expire on December 1, 2014.
Continued employment is contingent on renewal of the term.
There is one current vacancy available working as a professional aide to support a Councilmember's office. The selected candidates will perform a variety of administrative and legislative duties relating to office administration and constituent services. Duties include: conducting research and preparing reports; receiving, investigating and resolving complaints and inquiries from constituents; attending and representing the Councilmember at meetings; maintaining the Councilmember's appointments calendar; and performing related administrative duties as required. This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office.

One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in legislative/policy research or communications and/or professional level experience in a subject area relevant to local government administration.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Employees meeting minimum qualifications who are same grade or higher will be placed on Eligible List as a "Transfer" candidate and may be considered for interview.
