Job Description :
In collaboration with the system engineering and the software development teams, the candidate will contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the HeartFlow Platform. The Platform hosts HeartFlow medical device as an external service to hospitals around the world. It is a multiple tier web infrastructure, geographically dispersed, encompassing a High Performance Computing cluster, a distributed file system and virtualization technology. The candidate focus will be on Linux systems design, maintenance and troubleshooting from hardware, system components, networking to integration with HeartFlow services. The candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of product deployments to the test and production servers.

Job Responsibilities :
Participate to the continuous improvements to the HeartFlow Platform

Select, configure and qualify hardware for the Platform

Evaluate, select and deploy new technologies and tools

Optimize system performance working with applications, network, storage, database and server technologies

Perform complex Linux administrative activities

Perform troubleshooting and repair work at hardware and software levels

Diagnose, isolate, troubleshoot and fix technical issues under pressure

Provide assistance with automation of software installation processes

Create, update, maintain administrative Linux shell scripts

Train, comply with and improve operation procedures

Participate in capacity planning

Help define best practices for the and installation setup of test and production environments

Participate to the continuous improvements of the secure and scalable web deployment in a modern cloud environment

Participate to the continuous improvements of cybersecurity controls

Participate to the continuous improvements of the Platform monitoring and logging functions

Participate to the continuous improvements of the Platform for the business continuity and effective disaster recovery

Needed skills and qualities :
Detailed knowledge of hardware including servers for different roles, storage and networking

Detailed knowledge of Linux operating system

Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery principles

Strong knowledge of security principles and technologies

Strong network engineering skills

Understanding of web application deployment

Python and Linux shell programming

Methodical and systematic

Excellent communication skills

Ability to follow and develop operation procedures

Great team player

Desired Skills :
A familiarity with many of the following technologies: Saltstack , HAProxy, Mercurial, Git, Tomcat, Apache, RPM, YUM, MySQL, Nginx, ucarp, cacti, Kickstart, LDAP, Mail/Postfix, DNS, DHCP, KVM/QEMU, iPXE, TFTP, VPN, Palo Alto Networks, Force10, Aruba Wireless, 802.11b/a/g/n.

Healthcare industry knowledge

Educational Requirements, Work Experience :
B.Eng, B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

5+ years of experience designing, building and administrating complex Linux platforms combined with experience in network engineering specific to high volume based websites and related networks

Experience with service oriented architecture

Experience with large distributed and highly available services

Experience designing and supporting networks

Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining a distributed and shared file system

Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting

Experience with automatic configuration management

Experience designing and building data centers

Experience with deployment of services to cloud solutions such as AWS, RackSpace, Google Cloud etc...

Proven track record of delivering results on time
