The candidate focus will be on Linux systems design from hardware to system components, networking and tight integration with HeartFlow services. The candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of product deployments to the production servers. In addition, the candidate will participate in the continuous improvements and maintenance of the HeartFlow corporate services.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Lead the evaluation, selection and deployment of new technologies and tools
  • Work with team to optimize system performance – working with applications, network, storage, database and server technology
  • Performs complex Linux administration activities
  • Solves unusual or highly technical problems
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair work at a hardware and software level
  • Able to diagnose, isolate, troubleshoot, and fix technical issues under pressure
  • Provide assistance with automation of software installation processes
  • Create, update, maintain and test Linux shell scripts
  • Participate in capacity planning
  • Define best practices for the setup of development and production environments
  • Design and review architecture of secure web systems for scalable deployment in modern cloud environment
  • Design and lead implementation of the company’s security architecture
  • Collaborate with the Software Architect to lead the architecture of the future application development environment
  • Define technology standards to minimize complexity and maximize reuse of technology and processes
  • Design and lead implementation for monitoring and logging across all technology systems
  • Design and lead implementation for the business continuity and disaster recovery plan
  • Improve and maintain IT corporate services and related infrastructures
Skills Needed :
  • Detailed knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge on how to architect high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Strong network engineering skills
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures
  • Python programming
  • Understanding of web services software architectural issues
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and technologies
Desired Skills :
  • A familiarity with many of the following technologies: Saltstack , HAProxy, Mercurial, Git, Tomcat, Apache, RPM, YUM, MySQL, Nginx, ucarp, cacti, Kickstart, LDAP, Mail/Postfix, DNS, DHCP, KVM/QEMU, iPXE, TFTP, VPN, Palo Alto Networks, Force10, Aruba Wireless, 802.11b/a/g/n.
  • Healthcare industry knowledge
Educational Requirements & Work Experience :
  • B.Eng, B.S. or M.S in Computer Science
  • 10+ years of experience designing, building and administrating complex Linux platforms combined with experience in network engineering specific to high volume based websites and related networks
  • Experience with service oriented architecture
  • Experience with large distributed highly available services
  • Experience designing and supporting networks to maintain policy integration
  • Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining a distributed parallel fault-tolerant file system such as Lustre, GlusterFS, Panasas etc…
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting
  • Experience with automatic configuration management
  • Experience designing and building data centers
  • Experience with deployment of services to cloud solutions such as AWS, RackSpace, Google Cloud etc...
  • Proven track record on delivering results on time and on budget
