The Role

This position will be responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Logistics Solutions in current and future operations. The role requires an understanding of the logistics operations across North America and International.

Responsibilities

Collects data and performs statistical analysis.

Maps and documents processes.

Recommends and implements process improvement.

Applies company methodologies and tools to design transportation operations.

Establishes and implements performance measures.

Conducts Supply Chain analyses.

Redesigns logistics processes.

Supports business development and creates efficient designs and solutions.

Determines efficient utilization of resources by analyzing driver and equipment utilization charts.

Assists the Operations Managers to implement efficient and competitive solutions.

Manages small and medium size projects.

Applies Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) tools.

Assists in the development and delivery of presentations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, Logistics, Management, or Industrial Engineering or 8 (eight) years of equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 3 (three) years of related experience.

Advanced Level Skills in MS Word such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text.

Advanced Level skills in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot charts, queries, custom functions, data management and analysis.

Advanced Level Skills in MS Project such as importing and exporting data to and from your project, connection to a Project Server, setting multiple project baselines, customizing columns in a table, creating custom views and reports, PERT analysis and project tracking, and maintaining project budget compliance AND/OR Transportation/Warehouse Management Systems (TMS and WMS) and Network analysis tools.

Advanced Level Skills in MS Visio such as creating Visio diagrams, creating custom styles and templates, cross functional flow charts, linking drawings to other MS applications, working with data, custom reports, and exporting

experience with Statistical and/or Transportation Analysis Tools (Minitab, SAS, Metlab, i2, Tmod, ILPS).

Experience with AutoCAD.

Experience with Visual Basic Admin. (VBA) / Sequential Query Language (SQL).

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.

Experience with Mapping analysis tools and/or Simulation, preferred.

American Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certification is preferred.

Capable of creating written reports, proposals and project documentation.

Ability to present material to leadership as required.

Knowledge of logistics, transportation alternatives and customer expectations.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs.

Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required.

Self motivated / Strong initiative.
