Perform a variety of duties in an assigned work center to manufacture our candles. Specific responsibilities include ensuring quality control standards are met or exceeded; ensuring safety, productivity and customer service; maintaining department inventory; operating, troubleshooting, repairing and conducting preventative maintenance to various pieces of equipment; participating in the work completion of product; training Machine Operators and providing direction to associates in the absence of an Operations Leader; assisting with the creation of standard operating procedures within the candlemaking and packaging areas; and other similar duties primarily to support the manufacturing goals of Yankee Candle Company.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous Machine Operator experience and demonstrated mechanical aptitude a must. YCC machine operations experience in a variety of manufacturing areas is preferred. Additional manufacturing experience is strongly desired, particularly in candlemaking/production.
Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and excellent communication skills are required.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize ones own work and the work of others.
Ability to work independently as well as work in a team environment is essential.
Ability to read and write in the English language , and knowledge of basic arithmetic required.
Must be able to effectively lead others to provide direction to a group of employees; training, assisting and instructing employees; and directing and maintaining workflow.
Working knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures as they pertain to manufacturing operations.
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
Hours: Rotating Schedule 5:45pm – 6:00am (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off)
