The Senior Maintenance Mechanic, under the direct supervision of the Sodexo General Manager and direct reporting to VP of Corporate Relations, will be on hand to maintain, repair, and install new or replacement equipment. Likewise, performs and directs activities necessary to maintain grounds and building finishes and perform office relocation and other C3 support activities. In addition the Senior Maintenance Mechanic will be required, at times, to guide, direct and coordinate the activities of contractors and other employees.
Assist in developing estimates for minor and major maintenance projects as required for code compliance and meeting organization standards.
Under the direction of the General Manager the Senior Maintenance Mechanic will be required to take a leading rol
l in the implementation of facility maintenance improvement projects (indoors and on the campus at large).
Assists the department management team in assuring a safe working environment for Rich Products Associates, customers, other departmental employees and visitors. This will include but will not be limited to keeping the Facilities Department spaces and operating areas clean and in compliance will all relevant codes
Assists in orientating, training, monitoring and directing other Facilities department personnel
Completes scheduled preventive maintenance and demand work orders as assigned. Recommends changes or modifications to plant, equipment and methods of operation that would improve the environmental conditions for associates of Rich Products.
Trouble shoots and diagnoses system malfunctions. Develop solutions and implement corrections. Inspects and critically evaluates the condition of all system components, work in progress and completed demand work orders and preventive maintenance to insure the highest standards of operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Uses in an appropriate and safe manner the hand, power, and specialized tools and tests equipment needed to complete the assigned activities
Remains current with the latest applicable codes, standards and regulations
Participates in departmental meetings and training programs
Serves as a lead HVAC maintenance mechanic by installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems
Monitors HVAC systems and operations, and ensures that routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established schedules
Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system.
Wears protective clothing required by the work environment or government regulations
Works under minimal supervision
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
What do I need to be considered a candidate?
Must be a high school, trade or vocational school graduate - continued education in technical or apprentice school is desirable
Five years of supervisory and maintenance experience related to physical plant operation and maintenance is required
Ability to communicate with the associates within his area of responsibility and associates of Rich Products
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret equipment manuals, written specifications, written and oral instructions and models/graphic illustrations such as: layout diagrams, blueprints, mechanical and architectural drawings, work sketches and schematic drawings.
Must be able to adapt procedure and process techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
Ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow associates
Must have hearing ability to detect warning signals and machinery malfunction
Physical capabilities to perform physical responsibilities
Color vision and field of vision to read meters and gauges is also required
The Senior Maintenance mechanic works in machinery spaces that are hot and noisy, utilizing both hand and power tools. Significant walking, agility, dexterity, standing, bending and lifting are required.
