Coeur Mining, one of the world’s leading silver companies and a significant gold producer, is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting to work out of our Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting coordinates and completes the period financial close and consolidation process and reports, the preparation of financial statements, and quarter and annual SEC filings at both the mine sites and corporate office. This includes the review of all period close documentation (cash flow, financial statements, journals, etc.) and SEC submissions (10Q, 10K, etc.). The role is responsible for the integrity of Coeur’s financial reporting and chart of accounts and ensuring compliance with SOX controls related to financial reporting. A key component of the role is communication and collaboration with the controllers and finance teams at the subsidiary sites. The ideal candidate possesses strong progressive accounting experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment and seeks the challenge of working with a growing and dynamic finance organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to consolidation activities, preparation of financial statements and SEC reporting.
Supports the development and implementation of internal control procedures and financial accountability including SOX.
Ensures integrity of the chart of accounts, financial reports and general ledger to support decision making.
Oversees and reviews external audit materials and supports relationships and requirements with internal and external auditors to provide complete documentation and explanation for transaction types.
Supervises the preparation of period-end close for corporate and mine sites, including:
Overseeing the coordination of site closing with site accounting staff.
Reviewing mine site monthly accounting schedules and reconciliations, general ledger updates and site financial statements, trial balances and supporting documentation.
Reviewing consolidated monthly accounting schedules, reconciliations, general ledger updates and consolidated financial statements, trial balances and supporting documentation.
Performs accounting research and supports complex and significant transactions.
Oversees and provides quality control over the preparation of period-end financial statements and consolidated financial results, including internal reports.
Oversees and provides quality control over SEC reporting document submissions, including 10Q, 10K and 8K filings.
Works with internal auditors to ensure SOX compliance with controls over financial reporting.
Leads and participates in special projects as required.
Manages the financial reporting team; prepares performance review, and provides direction and leadership to direct reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Ten plus years of progressively responsible experience in general accounting, including financial close consolidation and SEC reporting in a multi-jurisdiction environment.
Three to five years of management experience.
Active CPA license.
Extensive experience in all areas of accounting with a concentration on general accounting.
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrated experience in researching and interpreting guidance.
Experience working in an Oracle environment preferred.
Bilingual English-Spanish an asset.
Mining experience an asset.
Demonstrated management, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Team-oriented, with excellent relationship building and communication skills.
Flexible to travel.
