Working with the Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and the Sales departments, incumbent is responsible for formulating and projecting product valuations, modeling, and recommending resource allocation. Incumbent will conduct ad-hoc analysis in the marketing sciences in response to senior executive and director-level needs. Incumbent will be involved in project teams, timeline management, liaising with various departments, resource analysis, and the development of metrics.
Incumbent's primary responsibility is to provide accurate, supportable, well documented forecasts for our in-line products for use in monthly production requirements and corporate financial planning
Develop and evaluate models and algorithms that lead to strategic decision making in the following areas:
Current or proposed promotional tactics for in-line product profitability
Ad-Hoc requests at the discretion of Company executives
Potential product acquisitions and internal new product development. Analyze and track potential profit contribution of products in various therapeutic categories.
Liaise between outside business consultants and Company executives over strategic decisions involving analysis.
Identify best practices and issues, to deliver verifiable information on organizations within and outside the pharmaceutical industry.
Report, evaluate, and make recommendations based on short-, mid-, and long-term growth plans.
Clearly support each assumption with primary and secondary data. Recommend primary and secondary market research to support assumptions for which new data are required.
Present assumptions and forecast steps/methodology in clear and concise matter.
Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree preferred
Required Experience & Technical Requirements
The knowledge requirement for incumbent to be effective is broad based and extends into Sales and Marketing functional areas. Three to five years experience in pharmaceutical forecasting role required.
Understanding of strategic implications resulting from variations in promotional sensitivity, product pricing, managed health uptake
Working knowledge of budget planning and corporate financial reporting
Epidemiology and basic medical science
Understanding of forecast methodologies
Understanding of market research to support forecast as well as key secondary databases
Understanding of market behavior and global dynamics in the pharmaceutical market.
