The Senior Manager of Pharmaceutical Operations will be an integral member of the pharmaceutical operations team with a primary focus on financial management of the global manufacturing and supply activities for ARIAD's clinical and commercial products. Reporting to the Vice President Manufacturing Operations and work closely with Drug Substance, Drug Product, Analytical Development, Quality Control and Supply Chain & Distribution functions.

Responsibilities

Interface with functional area heads in collecting information on ongoing projects and proposals that are to be formalized; assist in planning their project financial needs and provide feedback on fund availability to keep spending within budgets

Support operational flows to ensure smooth processing of purchase requisitions, accurate expensing and invoicing; interface with vendors on project related issues; obtain accurate account statements for external auditors

Work with Supply Chain and Finance in developing an inventory modeling tool and arriving at product costing

Drive the quarterly and annual budget process for the functional areas

Coordinate feedback from Project Managers relating to expensing of project activities based on milestones and/or invoicing timelines and work with Finance on appropriate quarterly expensing

Main liaison between the pharmaceutical operations functions and Finance in the implementation of a new ERP system – Hyperion and help in identifying the main cost drivers for this new ERP system

Work on ad hoc projects within pharmaceutical operations and interface directly and proactively with internal and external partners including finance, contract manufacturers (CMO’s), suppliers and internal ARIAD teams.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.

Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the ARIAD organization.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline. MBA preferred.

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in finance in manufacturing operations

Experience working with ERP systems

Demonstrated evidence of analytical, planning and execution capabilities

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with experience in conflict resolution and negotiations

Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Strong commitment to business ethics

Understanding of, and experience with, regulatory framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
