Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Product Marketing is accountable for the profitable growth of Spirent’s flagship products in the Cloud/DataCenter and Security market segments. She/he will lead their Product Marketing team in gathering, prioritizing and translating market and customer needs to develop optimized portfolio investment decisions and differentiated product requirements. This leader must work collaboratively with Customers, Sales, Segment Marketing, Global Services and Engineering. This position reports to the Senior Director Product Marketing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Define overall strategies for the Cloud/DataCenter and Security product portfolio.
• Work closely with customers on developing segment strategy and test methodology.
• Identify the most influential customers and industry bodies to help align and drive segment strategy and growth.
• Work with Product Management to establish the product line roadmap.
• Joint development with Professional Services for complete solutions
• Collaborate with the Sales organization to plan and manage growth for influential accounts.
• Ensure Sales has the tools and training to effectively position differentiated DataCenter and Security solutions.
• Collaborate with product management, marketing communications, sales and services to successfully launch new products to the market.
• Work closely with Marketing Communications to define marketing campaigns that demonstrate industry leadership for areas of strategic focus.
• Develop content for application notes and for feature articles. Assist with the development of press releases, public relations and internal and external newsletters.
• Manage the profit and loss of the Data Center and Security market segment which includes Spirent TestCenter, Avalanche, and Studio products.
• Thoroughly understand the competitive landscape.
• Prepare and present business cases for new products projects and releases.
• Eliminate internal roadblocks to facilitate on time execution and releases of products and solutions.
• Assist with technical support, sales support, creation of business plans, and generation of training materials for customers and sales meetings.
• Create a positive team environment and overall organizational effectiveness.
• Other duties may also be assigned, as needed.

• Knowledge of customer test requirements and test methodologies.
• Demonstrate persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles.
• Minimum 5 years leading a product management and/or product marketing team.
• Broad technology industry expertise, strategic insight and ability to understand from a technical perspective markets evolution.
• Strong business and financial analysis acumen, versed in preparing and communicating business cases to senior executives.
• A passion for technology, with proven ability to set and execute strategy that moves products to market success.
• Ability to keep the focus of a large and diverse group on the success factors of a product.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching successful technology products.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Self-starter who needs little day to day direction and consistently delivers on time and meets and exceeds MBOs.
• Proven ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills a must.
• Experience in software and hardware development processes.
• A technical degree plus MBA and 5 years of experience in product marketing is preferred.
• Travel up to 25% and occasional early morning or late evening calls with teams located globally.
