Play a leading role in managing the planning, development, implementation and execution of the public relations and communications programs that promote and elevate the OpenTable brand and its restaurant customers.
Serve as a media liaison for OpenTable and lead or assist on the development of news announcements, written statements, media/customer talking points and Q&As for product and service offerings, topical and ongoing PR campaigns, partnerships, etc.
Work in tandem with the Sr. Director of Corporate Communications on the day-to-day management of OpenTable public relations firms of record.
Coordinate public relations support for various special events and conferences.
Build and expand upon relationships with members of the news media, continually positioning OpenTable as an expert source.
Advise and assist in developing communications in response to media inquiries.
Manage communications calendar and coordinate global PR and social reporting on an ongoing basis.
Assist on an ongoing basis with global corporate communications campaigns and activities on an as needed basis.
Other related global marketing communications duties, including social media campaign planning and execution, may be assigned. Experience & Requirements:
5+ years experience in a corporate communications or public relations role, ideally with a heavy emphasis on the consumer technology and/or hospitality industry.
Strong written, verbal and media relations skills.
Proven ability to develop and execute communications plans to launch or promote products and services.
Proven track record of developing and pitching stories to consumer, business and trade media with strong placement track record.
Experience working with or for public relations firms.
Experience with social media as a component of a comprehensive communications program.
Experience establishing and/or working within brand and company guidelines.
Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and lead projects with non-reporting team members, delivering projects on time and on budget.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present and promote concepts to others.
