Strategic Sourcing Consultant
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Manages team engaged in driving innovation in strategic partnership solutions and business process sourcing delivery capabilities that add to the organization’s competitive advantage; manages the design, market, and delivery of large complex sourcing projects; defines strategic approaches to each sourcing initiative
Works closely with senior management and internal business partners to ensure the most consistent and efficient support process; develops, executes, and optimizes the ongoing sourcing strategy that is in line with Aflac’s internal processes
Monitors, mentors and works closely with sourcing partners to ensure compliance with internal strategies, policies, procedures and knowledge to help ensure that services provided to our business customers are standardized and of the highest level of quality that adheres to the Aflac brand
Oversees the identification and coordination of membership in the steering group responsible for successful implementation of sourcing projects; leads a team through the planning, analysis, review, and vendor selection process; develops strategic advisor relationships that drive stakeholder satisfaction in a way that leads to increased growth and financial performance; champions sourcing solutions
Responsible for understanding and incorporating organizational service standards, interfacing with various internal divisions/departments to ensure accurate vendor selection; performs current state analysis, defining strategy, developing requirements, defining support and implementation procedures; performs procurement activities to source services/functions involving the assessment, selection, negotiation, and contract completion to enable the stakeholders to meet their objectives
Manages the development of deliverables by assessing statements of work, content, business cases, professional plans, market research, documented industry trends; manages the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposals (RFP) processes; oversees the review of vendor proposals, task orders and change orders for accuracy, completeness, and suitability of pricing
Builds and cultivates a positive customer experience, working closely with the contracted partners to ensure that there is adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and budget compliances; oversee project teams and sourcing counterparts to ensure alignment of project activities; responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with sourcing partners; acts as the primary interface between the team and external parties
Presents analysis, reporting and recommendations to senior management on partner performance; utilizes reporting and metrics to manage the partners performance; works closely with the source partners and acts as the primary point of contact for escalation issues or conflicts between partners and Aflac
Monitors and serves the business unit in the successful delivery of critical customer service SLAs in coordination with their customer service strategy; supports sourced partners by ensuring all the necessary tools, process, workflows, strategy and vision that is necessary in order to provide the highest level of support to our business customers are available
Facilitates continuous improvements through departmental projects in conjunction with customer service leadership team and sourcing partners; assists in the creation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures that ensure the highest quality of service to our business customers while maintain consistency with corporate objectives
Performs other duties as required
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field and ten years of professional job-related work experience four of which include supervisory and/or managerial experience
MBA is preferred
Job Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of strategic
sourcing, including geographies, service providers, vertical processes and functions, and emerging trends
Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience performing financial/cost analyses and related valuation methodologies, systems, and quantitative business-based analyses, metrics, and experimental designs
Very strong knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management
Excellent coaching and leadership skills; ability to build strong bonds with employees to foster open, honest and candid communication
Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment; ability to manage change in an organization engineering its culture and approach to workload management
