The Supply Chain Organization’s (SCO) directive is to strategically source quality materials and services at lowest total cost using a supplier management program that leverages best-in-class people, systems and processes.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) is responsible for overseeing the supply chain cycle for all SCO operations-related activities.

The incumbent will be the Company’s subject matter expert in this area and will collaborate with U.S. Tower Division and at times with Corporate and International Operations to achieve expected buying goals and cost savings.

The SSCM will be expected to bring best-in-class practices, sourcing methodologies and execution to the position.

The SSCM will need to think creatively and challenge the status quo processes while upholding the highest level of integrity and compliance.

The SSCM will be charged with ensuring compliance to procedures and be able to scale with the company’s activities.

This position will also benchmark American Tower’s productivity in procurement operations to best-in-class performance of similar companies in the industry.

The SSCM will lead the SCO’s operational activities, including leading and meeting established metrics of the purchase order (PO) process, providing oversight to the Company warehouse and logistics operations, and collaborating with the Accounts Payable department to ensure timely payments are made to suppliers.

Job Requirements

Lead the operational activities of all categories of purchases

Lead the creation of PO requests, issuance, and receiving and timely supplier payments and metrics

Manage the month-end financial close process and optimize inventory levels

Streamline the warehousing and logistics operations to meet the needs of the organization

Interface with the internal stakeholders, understand their needs, and initiate and manage specific projects that are executed timely to meet company objectives with an emphasis on improvement of productivity and efficiency

Interface with counterparts in the company to manage owned and leased office facilities

Ensure compliance to all contractual obligations with suppliers

Partner with Accounts Payable to maximize financial benefits of early payment terms

Identify process improvement opportunities.

Contribute to the creation or amendment of Supply Chain policies and processes and maintain supplier master policies and structure

Evaluate and implement Oracle modules and other software systems that would enhance SCO productivity and capabilities

Staff and develop a high performing and motivated Supply Chain team responsible for globally interfacing with business and supplier partners to execute holistic end-to-end commodity strategies

Manage functional skill building within the assigned team and commodity structure.

Improve professionalism, capabilities and skill sets of the supply chain team

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the performance of Senior Buyers, Supply Chain Managers, Supervisors and/or Buyers.

Proactively identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with Human Resources

Recruit, develop and retain staff, partnering with Senior Management, Recruiting and Human Resources.

This includes on-boarding and orientation for new hires.

Provide disciplined performance management for team.

Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner

Create strong collaborative team environment

QUALIFICATIONS:
Category management experience in Procurement department.

Strong negotiation and cost saving skills, and a demonstrated process improvement background.

Demonstrated success in identifying and synthesizing needs into a concise, clear and influential presentation, with a focus on consistent and concise message delivery.

Able to work effectively across many internal functional groups to optimize product offerings and resolve issues

High degree of financial acumen and problem solving ability

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Strong relationship-development skills resulting in long term mutually beneficial client relationships.

Self-motivated; able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge in identifying quality solutions.

Strong organization, planning and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for both self and team to meet business requirements and deadlines.

Strong leadership skills; ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.

Ability to work in a time-sensitive and high volume environment

Ability to drive work both independently toward the successful attainment of department goals and project completion dates and as part of a team to leverage input and knowledge base of others within the company in providing well-rounded and thoughtful information and solutions

Ability to identify key contacts for follow up; excellent ability to communicate project and status updates to team and cross-functionally to ensure understanding.

Good strategic and problem solving skills to effectively influence decision making in key negotiations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business, or Supply Management.

MBA preferred

Minimum of five years professional experience in Supply Chain and/or Strategic Sourcing with a track record of meeting and exceeding assigned goals and objectives

Experienced in management of supplier relationships and negotiating statements of work (SOWs) and service level agreements (SLAs)

Three years of management experience preferred

Wireless telecommunications industry experience is preferred, including sourcing or working in the construction or operations functions

Professional Certifications preferred (CPM, CPSM or CPIM)

Oracle supply chain modules experiences preferred

ENVIRONMENT:
Approximately 90% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

Approximately 10% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
