Partners with Tribune Technology and various Business Units to identify opportunities to improve operational and service-related processes through improving the existing application portfolio functionality
Maintain and enhance a resource plan which provides for adequate levels of production support of existing application portfolio as well resources to support approved project work
Develops, implements, and enforces policies, procedures, best practices and controls for operational efficiency and effectiveness
Ensures that all teams are providing effective support of appropriate production applications including:
Alignment and partnership with assigned business areas
Establish mechanisms to ensure day to day production application support work is managed and delivered effectively to meet business needs.
Delivering production support results consistent with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) where applicable.
Manages vendor relationships where applicable
Ensures that work is planned and executed according to best practice and measures outcomes to ensure quality of delivered product.
Remains abreast of information technology trends and their applicability to corporate systems
Works with Tribune Technology Program Management to ensure prioritization of efforts to migrate to technologies and upgrade existing applications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technical field. MBA or MS Information Technology or equivalent preferred
10+ years information technology implementation, application support and project management experience. Ability to manage application support for products that are utilized by myriad of departments (A/R, Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Sales Commissions, Newspaper Circulation, etc.)
Ability to participate proactively in business process, strong business judgment and ability to plan and implement technology according to a full life-cycle business case model
Very strong customer relationship management and communication skills. Ability to build and sustain relationships with demanding business partners, who have a high reliance on and high expectations of their information technology partners
Limited travel is required
