Senior Manager, Information Systems Procurement
Mondelēz International, is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Global Information Systems Procurement, located in Deerfield, IL or East Hanover, NJ.
This role oversees the Global IS procurement and contract management function for Information Systems and will drive the Global IS Procurement Strategy. This role will lead a team of individuals responsible for negotiating with IT, IS, Telecom, and Services suppliers support IS spend of approximately $500M annually. Mondelēz International’s needs will evolve quickly in this volatile space as technology is quickly changing along with cost models used by the IS supply base. In addition, IS Procurement space is very complex and the team must ensure all terms are negotiated favorably prior to acquisition of the technology given minimal competition and the lack of leverage once the technology is installed. We require a strong negotiator; contract author and manager to ensure the strategic needs of the IS organization are met in a timely manner. In addition, this individual will play a critical role in the ongoing relationship with the suppliers, mitigating risks, resolving issues, etc. This role serves as a subject matter expert advocate for the Mondelēz International for IS. Given this is a Global role for IS Procurement this individual will also work closely with the various global regions. This role also supervises Category Managers and will report to the Global Indirect Procurement Lead.
1. Buying Management
Lead, control, and drive improvement of the procurement activities in the IS, IT, Software, Telecom and IT Services categories, in order to capitalize on opportunities, drive productivity, and deliver quality and service that meets or exceeds business requirements. This is accomplished by employing a systematic approach encompassing: analysis of the marketplace/industry and internal data and needs; developing a procurement strategy; leading complex negotiations; legal contracting; providing ongoing supplier monitoring and feedback; managing supplier relationships; and implementing value-added supplier programs. Manage and influence groups to identify and implement productivity opportunities including those driven by technology changes. This also includes investigating future technologies and changes in the IS space including pricing models offer by supply base to ensure Mondelēz International is receiving the best value products/services.
2. Support the Business
Manage staff in order to support business processes. Establish dialogue and processes to ensure high level of customer satisfaction maintained for all internal customers. Set and monitor priorities that balance Procurement and stakeholder goals. Promote Procurement initiatives and involvement in stakeholder initiatives that prove the value of professional procurement.
3. Buying Strategies (Globally)
Ensure the development and manage the execution of sound category strategies and productivity programs, for all areas of responsibility, in order to optimize the potential value of both the supply markets and the business needs. Based upon superior knowledge of the market and the stakeholder requirements, champion their integration into the overall strategies of the business. Lead creative thinking that breaks paradigms and drives industry leadership through new approaches.
4. Supplier Performance and Relationship Management
Maximize the value of the supplier relationships to drive incremental value and ensure contract adherence. Support team in managing suppliers’ ongoing work, developing supplier capabilities, and reducing costs through the establishment of clear measures/goals, expectations of continuous improvement, and sharing of fact based feedback at scheduled reviews.
5. People Management
Lead and manage staff, providing direction, setting objectives, approving execution plans, and delegating tasks, in order to deliver against business goals. Act as a coach and mentor to enhance team performance, provide direction in the creation of employees’ Development Plans, and oversee or direct performance issue resolution.
6. Compliance with Policies and Controls
Ensure compliance with all internal guidelines and external regulations and requirements relating to responsible categories, e.g. finance policy, procurement policy, code of conduct, etc. Manage special situations as required.
7. Benchmarking and Best Practices
Research and remain current on industry trends that may impact existing and/or future category strategies. Share best practices within staff and across peers, department, function, and stakeholder base. Encourage collaboration in applying best practices across categories.
The ideal candidate should have experience in IT/IS Procurement. He/she should have a track record of delivering results, including bottom line savings, while collaborating across business groups and functions within a regional organization.
Bachelor degree, Master degree or MBA preferred
