Responsibilities : This role is responsible for developing and applying reliable engineering methods, theories, and research techniques, in the investigation and solution of technical problems. These problems can be mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or hydraulic in nature. You will plan technical projects in the process, design, and/or development of Genie products. Specific areas of focus include machined parts, plasma/laser cut steel parts, formings, weldments, injection-molded parts, electrical control systems, and hydraulic lift/drive systems. You'll be responsible for developing new concepts from initial design to market release. Designs are documented by creating models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks. You will then analyze them using traditional methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. Design activities are coordinated with the purchasing group to ensure delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.

Qualifications : B.S. Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Manufacturing(preferred). BS in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology will be considered. 8+ years related experience Excellent CAD skills, and proficient in Excel and Word Ability to organize and sequence work associated with complex designs Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated team player qualities Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement Commitment to Lean Manufacturing Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks Experience with hydraulic/electrical control systems Experience with microprocessor based control systems Systems experience - includes overall controls as well as component details Structural analysis including FEA

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working in Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Environment (5-8 years) - (CAT, John Deere, Oshkosh, Volvo, Ingersoll Rand, Komatsu, Kubota, Case, JLG, Bobcat) Solidworks (5-8 years with in the last (3) years) – ability to model simple to complex tools, fixtures, carts, racks, material handling devices, capability to mentor in this skill Ansys ( 3-5 years in the last (3) years) – ability to run stress analysis on 3D CAD models, capability to mentor this skill CMM System Experience (Coordinate Measuring Machine) – hands on experience using computer assisted measurement systems GD & T Dimensional Experience ( Geometric Design & Tolerance) – working knowledge of theory and application Technical Skills and Knowledge – Primary Area - Welding/Fabrication, Machining & Assembly Project Leadership – ability to manage multiple projects (ECN) utilizing cross department resources, provide direction to other Engineers Root Cause/Corrective Action – ability to independently analyze problem and develop solutions Lean Manufacturing – exposure to lean principles, team leader on improvement events Creative thinker, team leader, positive attitude, good verbal and written communicator, goal setting
