Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Prepares manufacturing documentation, including process flow charts and work instructions for use in all manufacturing processes.
Transitions new products into production, supervising manufacturing personnel through the initial build
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with engineering concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods are incorporated into the design. Provides producibility inputs based on design review.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and other costs related to the manufacturing process, including work instruction development and tool/fixture design and fabrication. Provides BOEs (Basis of Estimates) for submission of cost proposals, and provides written proposal content for manufacturing sections of technical proposals.

Job Requirements

BS degree along with 10+ years experience required. Well versed in Lean concepts and the application of statistical methods in manufacturing.

Desired specialties are 1) process specialist expert in working with epoxies, urethanes, and adhesives, including potting and encapsulation; 2) fabrication of piezoelectric underwater transducers; 3) fabrication, assembly, and verification testing of leak-proof underwater devices

MUST BE A US CITIZEN AND HAVE A CURRENT US SECURITY CLEARANCE OR THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN ONE.
