This is a dynamic role for an experienced, creative marketing researcher who can delight clients through designing and delivering compelling marketing research. As research lead, the candidate will work hand-in-hand with the client lead and liaise with operations teams to ensure successful project outcomes. The position requires proven skills in managing large multi-faceted research programs, and the capacity to offer fresh, creative thinking to evolve those programs as client needs evolve; it also requires a demonstrated ability to draw actionable, business-ready insights from the research. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills that can be leveraged to develop insights through analysis; he/she will be a proactive and creative problem-solver. A skilled communicator, this person will excel in written and verbal communications, including presentations. A confident, client-friendly demeanor is a must; regular client interaction, including in person, is a critical part of the role. The Senior Research Manager should effectively expand the business by developing strong client relationships that ensure TNS becomes the supplier of choice, creating a sustainable competitive advantage for the firm.

  • Engaging with clients to fully understand their business challenges and objectives
  • Designing research questionnaires and other key research instruments that directly address business challenges
  • Developing plans for analysis, reporting, and external information-sourcing
  • Synthesizing and distilling large amounts of data to deliver relevant insights and bold, actionable recommendations
  • Developing client presentations and ‘wowing’ clients with compelling insights, interesting visuals
  • Mining existing data to answer hot topical business questions
  • Overseeing entire project lifecycle through to completion; ensuring that all project deliverables, requests and action-items are on-task
  • Leading multiple team-members and multiple projects
  • Working independently and collaborating effectively with team members and others across the organization
  • Managing multiple client relationships
  • Developing costing and monitoring project budgets; providing input into proposals

  • Requires at least 8 years of marketing research experience and a strong background in quantitative research methodology and statistical analyses
  • Experience with Customer Experience Management research; knowledge of Branding/Communication a plus
  • Proven experience and success conducting research for Technology firms
  • Clear understanding of how to achieve and maintain research integrity; ability to identify and correct issues that may compromise results
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Extremely organized; multitasks with ease

  • Able to work independently with little supervision; takes initiative to develop opportunities and advance the work
  • A clear thinker; the ability to cut through the clutter and discern between more and less relevant information

  • Possesses excellent written/verbal communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Graphics knowledge & SPSS (or SAS) knowledge
