We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the team as a member of our growing Industrial Construction division. This person will be responsible for:
Project Management *
  • Supports and provides input to develop strategies; goals and objectives specific to project execution at each project phase. *
  • Oversees project activities, functions and resource use. *
  • Identifies required resources to implement project strategies and achieve project goals. *
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules; scopes of work. *
  • Defines project responsibilities and accountabilities to project management and engineering staff. *
  • Serves as primary point of contact for project engineering staff during construction. *
  • Transition project management and engineer activities from design to construction phase and construction to completion phase. *
  • Documents and resolves subcontractor and vendor billing issues. *
  • Mitigates risk on behalf of the company. *
  • Assists the business development team in responding to requests for proposal and bid process. *
  • Responsible for site safety during design, procurement, contracting and start up phases. *
  • Upholds and communicates safety standards. *
  • Asses site safety and implement actions to prevent injury to property and personnel. *
  • Ensures safety compliance of subcontractors and all on-site personnel.
Project Controls *
  • Assumes financial responsibility for project including accurate, timely and relevant reporting to stakeholders *
  • Facilitates invoice payments from clients and to subcontractors *
  • Reviews subcontractor billing *
  • Prepares client and subcontractor change orders *
  • Monitors, controls and reports on the financial performance of projects *
  • Drafts subcontracts and purchase agreements *
  • Monitors and proofs change issue log
Team Management *
  • Coaches and develops members of project team *
  • Mentors assigned project staff *
  • Develops project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors, etc. *
  • Acts as a steward of McKinstry culture; communicates and influences policies and procedures
Qualified candidates will possess the following: *
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred. *
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/or Suretrak required. *
  • Knowledge of construction financial programs and software. *
  • Bachelor"s degree in Construction Management or Engineering required. *
  • Ten (10) years experience in project management, engineering, or construction is required. *
  • Experience with working with a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor required. *
  • PE, CPM, LEED professional designations is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS *
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally. *
  • Physical ability to navigate jobsites in uneven terrain. *
  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.
