THE RESPONSIBILITIES:Overall Objective:
Coordinate media buying efforts of accounts including research, planning, buying and posting all facets of market/accounts on a local and national level.
Day to Day Duties:
Plan, organize, implement and control the day-to-day media buy process for larger and more complex/challenging accounts and markets. Be a resource in developing sound media buys to help increase traffic and sales for clients and negotiate the best rates and added value. Work with the account services teams on: marketplace conditions, competitive, media opportunities, promotional opportunities and billing Present strategic media plans to clients. Analyze times with assistant and have stations move spots accordingly Maintaining station relationships Obtain additional added value, remotes, no charges, sponsorships, billboards, etc for clients Find innovative methods of media planning and buying Assists with the implementation of new business pitch presentations Assists in the training of other media buyers
5+ years previous experience as a media buyer Strong verbal and written communication skills, with well-developed telephone skills: outgoing and comfortable relating to people. Proven ability to present to clients and C level principals at the agency Self-motivated, a desire for challenge and ability to work with minimal supervision Good computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Possess/portray a strong positive, professional attitude at all times and work effectively in a team environment Highly dependable, organized and detail-oriented; great focus Strong analytical and research skills Familiarity with Nielsen rating numbers Well-developed, proven research skills such as Qualitative, Quantitative, Trends, Hour-By-Hour day part planning, Zip code analysis Ability to plan/negotiate strategic media recommendations Excellent problem solving abilities Skilled in prioritizing and adapting to new projects throughout the day with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work in an environment of fast-paced change while maintaining focus Excellent at setting and meeting deadlines with the ability to work well under pressure Ability to work flexible schedule as required.
