Fort Hood, TX
Berico is looking for a motivated, creative thinker who has the ability to bring critical analysis to high-level Army planning processes. Our Senior Military Analyst will be a team player whose experience with senior U.S. military leaders provides a background from which to provide innovative ways to improve current plans and processes. The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is home to the G-2 Devil’s Advocate Office (DAO), an office that provides independent and unbiased review of current concepts, plans, and operations being conducted throughout the U.S. Army. The Military Analyst will be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that the most effective methods are used to challenge the planning process, identify inherent ambiguities, and offer alternative perspectives that make the planning process more responsive to current needs. We want someone who is quick on their feet and can draw from a wide range of experiences to constructively challenge current thinking and offer useful alternatives. You should have broad experience at senior levels of military leadership, be able to present your ideas in a way that is compelling but collaborative, and possess the skills to research and produce products that capture innovative thought processes. This is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to employ the breadth of your experience to bring real, positive change to the future of Army planning.
The ability to look at complex problems from multiple and opposing points of view.
The capacity to develop a plan of research and product creation in response to DAO requests for support.
The ability to conduct open source, library, and on-line research to formulate an opinion and argue persuasively for that position without becoming emotionally attached.
Constructively participate in team meetings that review previously created products and plan for future projects by developing milestones and deliverables.
Provide technical and administrative support to DAO staff elements in preparing for and conducting video-teleconferences, integrated product teams (IPT), and working groups within and outside DAO.
Represent DAO and the G-2 in TRADOC-wide, HQDA, DoD, and other services at the O-6 level and above.
Given broad or general guidance for a project, identify critical tasks, develop an action plan, and implement projects to meet customer needs.
Former military officer (retired O-3 and above preferred) with experience at the highest levels of the military (e.g., Service HQ, Joint Staff, OSD/DoD, etc.).
Working knowledge of TRADOC and DA G-2 mission, core competencies, processes, and procedures.
Working knowledge of TRADOC’s relationship with other Army commands, HQDA, other military branches, DoD, and Joint communities.
Comfortable briefing senior military and civilian leaders (e.g., FO/GO/SES) on operational and planning requirements.
Demonstrated experience in the operations, training, and/or capability development communities within the U.S. military (Army preferred).
Familiarity with the Army budget process.
War college graduate desired.
Strong computer-based skills, including word processing, office tools, and graphics programs a must.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
