At lynda.com the Senior Motion Graphics Designer creates broadcast-quality motion graphics and instructional design elements for content destined for web, video, and print delivery. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, the Senior Motion Graphics Designer utilizes effective and creative communication to collaborate with Training Producers, Directors, and Lead Editors to create graphics that meet the instructional goals of the course and match the visual aesthetic of the lynda.com brand.

Design and produce custom slides and instructional motion graphics for lynda.com videos.
Create course graphics using After Effects and Premiere Pro, with particular focus on the technical accuracy of the content and pacing of visuals.
Collaborate with Producers, Editors, and Authors to design motion graphics that transform complicated concepts into clear instructional graphics.
Gather assets and create style guides for an asset library for future courses.
Work with the Graphics team to continually develop, define, and implement the lynda.com aesthetic for motion graphics.
Shepard graphics through the workflow process, ensuring the timely handoff of graphics elements to video editors.
Utilize knowledge of typography and advanced principals of design, using a variety of applications (including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote, and PowerPoint).
Develop detailed design palettes and style guides for distribution to the Content and Production teams.
Maintain the lynda.com brand and aesthetic.
Create storyboards and design concepts for handoff to team members.
Help to establish team best practices for creating course graphics.
Make recommendations to the graphic production workflow to ensure efficient processes are in place for the ever-changing video-training market.
Work with the in-house tracking system to keep projects updated.
Manage priorities and workload effectively to meet all schedules and deadlines.
Set accurate estimates on delivery expectations and send status updates to the Associate Creative Director and Production team.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Research and continuously evaluate of industry trends, our production needs and propose technology to support, streamline and improve our postproduction process.
Experience and qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years as a designer with experience and comprehension of informational and/or instructional graphic design
Proven advanced After Effects skills used in a production work environment
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent training/education
Must have an extensive, strong portfolio that exhibits creative vision and composition skills demonstrating senior-level design experience in the following categories: illustration, design and layout, kinetic typography, concept design, and technical design
Skilled in development of media and design from concept to completion
Advanced understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, PowerPoint, and Keynote. (Working knowledge of Premiere Pro, Maya, and Cinema 4D is a plus)
Demonstrated solid understanding of After Effects and the ability to work within an AE-based design template
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to effectively and professionally interact within a team environment
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
Must have exceptional comprehension and analytical ability
Driven to always improve skills
Must be a self-starter who can work independently with limited supervision
Skilled in organizing and prioritizing of work and following assignments through to completion
Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines, with a sense of urgency
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities and work styles
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to constant change
