Job Description:
The Senior MySQL Architect is responsible for all aspects of the database landscape including security, performance, architecture, and strategy. The individual will work closely with database operations, application owners, data architects and business analysts to align business strategies with database strategies. The Senior MySQL Architect will champion Oracle/MySQL database strategy and architecture including education and communication with business partners and stakeholders within the business.

Create and drive actionable database strategies for achieving the future state using Oracle 11g and MySQL
Align database strategies with business direction and initiatives
Align enterprise database architecture/strategies
Set strategic direction for database best practices
Define and create standards, guidelines, and quality of service criteria for enabling, implementing and supporting architected database systems
Design & review database best practice operations and implementation processes
Maintaining an understanding of current technologies, their trends, business strategies and capabilities
Lead technical performance and compliance assessments of database applications and products
Analyze and interpret requirements for operational oversight of database including determining SLA's
Evaluate, test and provide recommendations for new tools for enterprise database management
Provide tuning, diagnostic, and backup of MySQL/Oracle 11g
Provide technical oversight for database related projects

Bachelor’s degree
10+ years’ experience in design and development
Solid experience in cross-functional teams and the flexibility to influence people at a variety of levels
Experience with Dataguard and ASM, Replication and Disaster Recovery
Strong experience in oracle RAC/GRID installation, configuration and support
Experience in a LAMP environment, particularly Perl/MySQL combination
Experience with MyISAM/InnoDB/Cluster/CouchDB/Redis/Memcache
Experience implementing and managing PL/SQL/MySQL stored procedure
A strong industry focus to understand the introduction of new database technologies and their possible impact to the companies’ infrastructure
Demonstrated track record with managing large, complex, enterprise database systems
Possesses wide base of experience in many disciplines of information technology with emphasis on Database: installation, configuration, management, security, recovery, consolidations, storage and performance
Experience developing and deploying complex Oracle databases
Demonstrated ability to perform problem isolation and troubleshooting in complex environments
Very comfortable in a Unix environment
Must be comfortable with adult content
Must be at least 21 years of age

Ability to work with minimal supervision and drive projects to completion
Demonstrated skills in the identification and resolution of business problems
High degree of honesty and integrity
Deadline oriented and multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment
Team-player, positive attitude and flexible
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
