Responsible for engineering, implementing, troubleshooting, and operating the voice, video and data infrastructure in a globallyregulated environment. Lead IT engineering efforts through project management methodologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform advanced technical activities in the engineering, implementation and maintenance of routine to complex network and communication systems.
Provide expertise on network performance, measurement and analysis for critical applications.
Work with application owners to identify and implement solutions to performance issues.
Lead engineering efforts for the global infrastructure team through standard practices insuring regulatory compliance with all implementations.
Conduct expert analysis as it pertains to network and application performance, including SAP, enterprise and scientific tools.
Document network-engineering procedures, and collaborate on various information technology projects.
Test LAN/WAN communications and routing products, design and implement test plans (including cases for functionality, integrity, and stress testing; test matrixes; definition of test methodologies and strategy).
Provide expert trouble-shooting support for complex voice and data communication issues.
Ensure timely and effective level 3 support for questions related to network systems and equipment. Plan, fix and deploy patch releases for equipment as required. Manage user expectations through timely communications.
Participate in implementation and maintenance of network disaster recovery plans according to existing processes and procedures.
Serve as a liaison with data center staff, company facilities staff, network equipment vendors, and managed service providers.
Provide liaison support between company and hardware/software vendors.
Coordinate and assist in the creation and maintenance of system documentation, including qualification plans, configuration management and change control. Implement and maintain network security policies.
Review, advise, and document standard engineering and operating procedures aligning them with team goals
Establish test criteria, measurement metrics, testing methodology and approach.
Compare installation performance against established performance objectives –
Assist in the performance of benchmark testing to ensure optimal system performance.
Implement core IT practices, including project management per the SDLC, portfolio management, testing and qualification/validation.
Provide training and/or ensure effective knowledge transfer to those responsible for use of new solutions such that adoption and value realization is optimized.
Train less experienced personnel in technical complexities of assigned work.
Oversee large, complex projects or more than one project, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years related experience in IT. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Other: Must have 3 + years experience in an SAP environment and have hands on knowledge in troubleshooting and performance tuning modules. Must have in-depth knowledge of current IT technologies and state-of-the-art practices, effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills including influencing & aligning.
