This position is located within the following department: Information Technology
This position supports, manages and maintains the network operations center to ensure corporate and production systems are fully functional, in good operational condition and are free from errors. This position maintains system security to ensure the safety of the company’s computing environment. The senior network engineer position works with project, development teams and other engineers to design and engineer computing systems for active and future projects. This position is also responsible for other administrative tasks such as user account maintenance, router/switch/firewall/load balancers/wireless configuration, and system reporting. This is a senior technical position supporting Local and Wide Area Networks and other supporting and leading other Infrastructure engineers. Works with telecommunications vendors and customers to trouble shoot issues and installations.
Configuring networking equipment based on defined design
Ability to perform and develop network assessments for multiple site customer networks
Monitor client and corporate connectivity
Troubleshoot local and wide area network issues
Coordinate new customer installs
Maintain and monitor network security
Assigns, tracks, and updates IP addresses, locations and customer site configurations
Documents changing procedures and technical support changes in LAN/WAN environment
Required Education and Training
Associates degree/diploma in Technology or equivalent additional experience.
5 or more years experience in Telco/Networking.
Knowledge of routing protocols and hardware.
Requires a strong working knowledge of Cisco Networking Equipment
Experience in troubleshooting telecommunications and LAN/WAN connectivity
Knowledge of Windows platforms, software, network/server administration.
Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate in both writing and verbally.
Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to efficiently and independently manage projects and issues;
Must posses and have proven problem resolution skills;
Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task.
Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and corporate executives.
Must be flexible and work with a high level of initiative.
Must have the ability to remain professional under high pressure situations.
Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
