As a Senior Network Engineer this position will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and operations of the production data centers network infrastructures including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN services. The role requires Linux systems administration experience and background in SAN administration. A successful candidate for this position will be an energetic and highly motivated individual with insightful problem solving skills. This position will report to the Manager of IT.
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers and firewalls
Troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze and resolve problems associated with network infrastructure
Monitor network infrastructure for performance, availability, and security issues or threats
Maintain Citrix and VMware environments
Administer and maintain Linux farm running CentOS
Aid in implementation and design of multi-location, public facing internet services and supporting infrastructure
Administrator and Manage SAN and NAS environment
Provide network expertise support to developers to help them design distributed web applications
Provide remote Desktop support to Windows users
Education and Qualifications
B.S. in computer science, computer information systems or equivalent
5-7+ years of experience with routers, switches, dynamic routing (OSPF and BGP) and other network related equipment and technologies required
Strong experience with Cisco Catalyst 6500 and related modules (Cisco certification a plus)
Strong experience with LAN Switching, Vlan tagging, Link Aggregation, Spanning Tree.
5+ years Linux systems administration experience specifically in managing or supporting RedHat and/or Centos Linux in production environments
5-7+ years of experience with managing VMWare, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Internet Information Server and other related Internet applications preferred
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, LANs/WANs, firewalls, telecommunications networks and application software
Thorough knowledge of modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols
Advanced knowledge of entire technology lifecycle, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
Hands on experience with VMware virtual systems and Citrix
Hands on experience with NAS/SAN configuration and troubleshooting (NetApp/EMC or DDN)
Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Unix and Linux operating systems is a plus
