SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer to join our team!
A Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer (CCIE) Subject Matter Expert that has experience in architecting and deploying IP networks within large-scale (multi-site) environments and/or large datacenter environments. CCIE must be able to develop LAN/WAN designs, setup route/switch configurations, design/configure routing protocols and IP subnet schemes, have solid understanding of Voice over IP dependencies on the underlying network infrastructure and a thorough understanding of Cisco’s Unified Communication offering. The CCIE candidate must exhibit strong communication, collaboration, as well as time and project management skills. This is a lead engineering position that focuses on customer-facing (production) infrastructure. The ideal candidate should also possess the ability to support strategic enterprise architecture design and advance technology insertion planning.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop LAN/WAN network designs to accommodate 25,000+_ user enterprise network across multiple geographic locations
Demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with LAN/WAN setup, TCP/IP protocol, routing/switching configurations and firewall technologies.
Experience with Cisco routing/switching platforms and IOS, Cisco wireless is a plus.
Experience with network topologies such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, GbE VLAN, and SONET.
Experience in implementing converged networks to include VoIP, VTC and QoS methods
Demonstrated knowledge with content switching and load balancers
Troubleshooting complex network issues such as performance analysis, protocol problems, hardware failures and WAN/LAN connectivity issues.
VoIP component configuration and deployment experience is a plus.
Knowledge and experience with Cisco’s Network Access Control is a plus.
Knowledge and experience with Riverbed or other Wan Acceletor products is a plus.
Lead in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.
Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and external resources.
Generate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.
Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.
Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.
Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently as required.
Minimum Position Requirements:
Ten years of progressively responsible network engineering hands-on experience with Cisco platforms. Candidate must have Cisco CCIE Certification. Candidates should have technical experience in 3 or more of the following areas: Cisco switching/Routers, Cisco VoIP, Cisco Unified Communications suite of products, Cisco Wireless and Wan Accelerator products. Individual must have high degree of skills with the MS Office toolsets.
Applicant must possess refined critical thinking skills, should be a self-starter, ability to lead and direct the activities of other team members, diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment, dependable and reliable. Prior experience in a government consulting services environment is required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or MIS related field. Advanced degree is preferred.

Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance (TS is preferred).
