Title: Senior Network Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Purpose of the Role:
Leads a work group and/or serves as a key member of our Network Technician staff within the Network Operations Center in support of BT’s clients.
Is responsible for ensuring network availability and product targets are achieved through the team’s pro-active monitoring and repair of fault network elements and facilities.
As a senior member of the staff, may be expected to lead on diagnosis and repair of more complex faults, produce major incident and customer reports, provide input to training programs, provide feedback on activities/issues, and ensure departmental process/procedures are accurate and adhered to by the team and self.
May assist in prioritizing work and scheduling of activities across the team.
Acts as the first level escalation contact for external interfaces.
CCNA or CompTIA certification is strongly desired. Other Cisco or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Experience working on a help desk and/or in a Network Operations Center in support of large, global clients is strongly desired.
Experience with network infrastructure design and troubleshooting, with an emphasis in Cisco and Microsoft technologies is required.
Willingness to carry a pager and be on-call as required.
Flexibility with work schedule, with the expectation that the primary work hours will be 1 st shift.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is a plus.
Must be a U.S. citizen and currently hold a DoD Secret clearance or be able to obtain a Secret clearance shortly after starting employment with BT Federal. The ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance at some point in the future may also be required.
Must be local to the Indianapolis, IN market, as on-site work is required.
Travel is an inherent part of this position.
