Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Answer phones, greet visitors; provide general information, in person, over the phone, and /or electronically, regarding the University and program activities

- Provide general support for administrative staff and faculty

- Coordinate all administrative aspects (scheduling audio visual, facilities, catering and dinners) and provide some staffing for the reading series for The School of Writing, which hosts over forty public events each semester

- Handle duties which may be of a sensitive and/or confidential nature

- Prepare informational letters and memos for administrative staff, students, and faculty

- Assist with preparation and implementation of Registration process each term.

- Oversee the use and general maintenance of printers, copy, and fax machine

- Order and inventory supplies; establish and oversee office equipment policies

- Open, sort and distribute mail; maintain mailboxes

- Help with the MFA admissions process

- Assist with MFA faculty, including: submit and keep records of payment for MFA faculty, visiting instructors, and thesis advisors

- Supervise student workers

- Process all departmental budgetary forms

- Collects, organizes, maintains and/or distributes information and files in all formats for faculty, staff, and students

- MFA schedule builder: complete schedule builder and coordinate with HR, the Dean’s office and registration to make sure all information is current and correct

- May have specific duties related to organizing, planning, research, and conducting special projects or functions, as necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years related experience

- Excellent task-management, organizational and inter-personal service skills

- Excellent analytical, writing and verbal skills

- Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, prioritize and follow-through on multiple tasks while maintaining high degree of accuracy, speed and poise

Preferred Qualifications:
- BA preferred

- Knowledge of literature and familiarity with university structure(s) a plus
