Ensure scalability and reliability in current and future Twitter systems
Play a key role in significant projects (support, consultant or lead)
Think creatively and work independently, while interacting with product and engineering teams
Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, applications and network
Directly responsible for site reliability
Take part in a 24x7 on call rotation
4+ years of experience with Linux/Unix/BSD
Proven ability to build large, reliable, scalable infrastructure
Knowledge of basic networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP, NTP, DNS, LDAP, SMTP
Knowledge of storage concepts including RAID levels, filesystems, performance tuning, etc.
Knowledge of monitoring applications including Nagios, Ganglia, Cacti, MRTG
Experience with shell scripting and at least one other scripting language (Ruby or Python preferred)
Track record of practical problem solving
Experience building fault tolerant, scalable systems
Experience automating systems administration tasks
Experience with existing open source projects such as Apache, Hadoop, Scribe, Zookeeper, etc
B.S. in computer science
