Key Deliverables:
As a key member of SRI, you will be responsible for all survey research projects throughout the data collection cycle and ensure all field projects remain on time and on budget while meeting SRI’s quality standards:

Work closely with other senior staff to set daily data collection and productivity targets.

Manage and lead a team to include assigning and prioritizing workloads to efficiently meet targeted deadlines and working with shift leaders to recruit, hire, train, manage and evaluate staff performance.

Manage several large, high-profile annual SRI projects such as the Empire State Poll, and the Cornell National Social Survey.

Provide technical knowledge and support which includes: programming and testing phone instruments (using CASES) used by field staff; and assist with testing a wide range of in-house software including web-based surveys and applications.

Be responsible for the overall operations of the facility.

Qualifications

Core Competencies:
We need a Senior Operations Manager who enjoys research, data collection and analysis and is highly motivated to be a self-starter with the interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead others. Specifically we are looking for the following traits:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, statistics, mathematics, marketing, sociology, psychology, economics, communication, political science or comparable field.

Three to five years’ experience with statistical analysis and social sciences as well as survey research and data collection (with an understanding of survey sampling methodologies) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Two-three years supervisory experience with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy (both written and verbal).

Strong technical skills and experience with basic programming and software testing.

Ability to write basic SQL queries, and experience with at least one scripting/automation language (e.g. Visual Basic, Perl, Python) and experience with web development technologies (e.g. HTML, Java, ColdFusion). Proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint required

Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, with exceptional attention to detail, from initialization to completion.

Ability to lead while creating a high quality and respectful work environment.

Must be available to work irregular hours (nights/weekends) or on call as needed
