Position Summary:
Database Administrator team lead:Responsibilities:
We require a DBA Team Leader who has a managerial experience coupled with a strong combination of Microsoft SQL, Oracle and Sybase experience within Production and non production environments. Any certifications are advantageous.

You will be managing a growing team and will need to demonstrate you managerial expertise.

Ensure High Availability of the Oracle database systems: supervise and maintain, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Veritas Cluster Server and other HA technologies

Ensure Recoverability of Oracle / SQL databases: production and non-production. Maintain high standards of backup/recovery, supervise recovery tests, employ best backup/recovery techniques

Ensure optimal performance of Oracle databases

Maintain database security

Assist teammates and colleagues on technical issues. Contribute to technical discussion

Write technical documentation and Any asset class experience within commodities or derivatives will be ideal but a financial services background is a must.

Support and implement database changes, ensure quality, choose right path to implement the changes

§ Oracle Database Server Administration at an expert level (including RAC)

§ Oracle knowledge and exposure should include Oracle 91, 10g, and 11g, RMAN, Oracle Developer/designer and PL/SQL.

§ Expertise in OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and DSS (Decision Support Systems), Data Warehousing, OLAP

§ SQL experience must include SQL Server 2005 and 2008

§ Unix operating system

§ Database Security

§ Database Networking

Technical Skills:
§ Oracle database installation, configuration, planning, migration, upgrading. Administering ASM. PL/SQL at an expert level

§ Oracle Database High Availability: RMAN, DataGuard, Oracle RAC 11g, Logical Standby, Archivelog management, Advanced Replication. Veritas Cluster Server is a plus

§ Unix OS: Solaris and Linux at advanced level: commands, tools and utilities, strong scripting skills

§ SQL Server Installation and configurations

§ ITIL Process and Oracle / SQL Monitoring

§ Partitioning, Index management, Undo management

§ Performance tuning at an expert level

  • Golden Gate is a plus

Experience Needed:
§ 7+ years of enterprise-level Production Database Administration


Educational Requirement:
§ Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent experience

Analytical Requirement:
§ Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

§ Anticipate/forecast critical points and make adjustments to deliver to commitments

Supervisory Responsibility:
In charge of the Newedge USA DBA team.
