We are currently seeking a Senior Permitting Agent in our Houston office for our Eagle Ford Shale program .
This position is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, providing project management of land surveyors to obtain plats for permitting, courthouse filing, surface use descriptions for site planning and coordination of the construction of drill site locations. This work requires coordination with drilling, land, geology and operations department and acting as a liaison to regulatory agencies and contract surveyor.
This member of the Drilling team handles a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Obtains federal, state and local drilling, right-of-way and other governmental permits relating to the drilling, completion and production process.
Works with geologist and surveying company to obtain surveys and plats.
Drives upfront well planning process pertaining to locations and permits and works closely with field personnel to ensure locations are built in a timely manner.
Stays in close communication with drilling and production personnel to ensure that needed permits are obtained in a timely manner.
Files required governmental reports relating to the drilling/regulatory process. Advises drilling/production personnel of applicable regulations that might impact activities (e.g. wildlife restrictions, etc.)
Maintains all required records.
Remains abreast of new and changing regulations that might impact drilling and/or production operations and advises management accordingly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Minimum of eight years of related experience
Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
Regulatory compliance; understanding the permits required and deadlines; understands how to use web based RRC applications
Surveying; vetting acceptable locations and QC final surveys with plans and other maps
