The City of Lancaster, Texas (population 36,000) is seeking a qualified applicant to serve as the Senior Planner. Located only 15 minutes from Dallas, Lancaster is a thriving, diverse community. The Senior Planner position is critical to providing Lancaster with creative and practical design solutions to meet the needs of a growing community with a changing character. This is a professional position reporting to the Director of Public Works and Development Services.
Responsibilities include providing information and assistance to the public regarding zoning and development requirements, reviewing development requirements for compliance with the City’s rules and regulations, preparing planning reports and recommendations, drafting zoning and development related ordinances and policies, making presentations to boards, committees and the general public, oversight of the update of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and carrying out special projects.
