Job Description
As a Senior Completions Manager, you will be responsible
for the planning and safe execution of commissioning and
start-up activities for numerous a project teams within
your area. The Completions manager will ultimately
ensure that new or modified facilities or assets are
commissioned and started up safely and on time, and
comply with the project integrity and assurance
requirements to achieve the agreed operating performance
targets.
Initially the role will commence during the bid phase
where you will guide the team that will provide input to
the project team and develop the project Completions
philosophy, Completions strategy and initial plans for
planning purposes. It is expected that the role will
provide Completions expertise to the project team,
ensuring that all design decisions and the development
of the project execution plans are fully aligned with
the objectives of achieving safe commissioning and a
flawless start-up. The Senior Completions Manager shall
assign personnel to lead the execution of Completions
activities from construction through to final handover
to Operations.
The Senior Completions Managers role is a key role that
provides a critical interface between the bid phase,
project phase and the operations phase, and supports the
Operations Readiness objective of ensuring that new or
modified facilities are built to meet the future needs
of the operator for all projects within your area.
The Senior Completions Manager will oversee the
recruiting, career development and performance
management for all personnel assigned to the Completions
function in the area to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Definition and development of the project
completions/commissioning and start-up philosophy
and strategy, and various levels of Completions
plans;
  • Selection of suitably qualified and experienced
personnel to staff the Completions Team for projects
within your area;
  • Ensuring Completions risks are identified and
necessary mitigation plans are in place, where
required;
  • Advising on Contract strategy and staffing models
for integrated Completions teams, and potentially
managing a subcontractor Completions team for
projects within your area;
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining a
Commissioning & Completions; Management System,
including punch list management and TQ interface for
projects within your area;
  • Ensuring that inspection and testing requirements
relating to Mechanical Completion and
Pre-commissioning are identified for projects within
your area;
  • Ensuring that vendor representative support
requirements, time schedule and cost forecast are
identified for projects within your area;
  • Interfacing with engineering, procurement and
construction groups regarding commissioning
priorities and resolution of site queries;
  • Implementing and managing Change Control procedures
during commissioning for projects within your area;
  • Managing Health, Safety and Environmental aspects
relating to commissioning activities, in partnership
with project and site construction managers;
  • Ensuring that preparation of “as-commissioned"
documentation to facilitate the handover of systems
from construction, through commissioning and into
operations is completed for projects within your
area.
  • Forecasting personnel needs to execute proposals and
projects booked by the Fabrication facility to which
they are assigned.
  • Ensuring that “soft” resources including, but not
limited to, leadership, mentoring, coaching and
conflict resolution are made available to all
Completions personnel.
  • Providing proposal support activities at proposal
phase relating to the cost estimating and execution
planning of completions work. These activities

include but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing the lessons learned database to extract
past lessons that are relevant to the project.
  • Review of the RFQ at the start of the proposal to
ensure that all completions requirements are
identified and understood.
  • Developing the organization chart for the
Completions team and the supporting staffing plan
for review.
  • Developing the project execution strategy for
review.
  • Developing the man-hour and cost estimate associated
with the execution of the completions work for
review.
  • Detailing the authorities and responsibilities the
Completions personnel assigned to projects in the
area to which they are assigned.
  • Fostering an environment that facilitates high
morale and high performance by Completions personnel
in the area to which they are assigned.
  • Ensuring that completions work performed by project
teams complies with Global Level 2, applicable
Atlantic Region and project specific procedures.
  • Ensuring that Lessons Learned are submitted for
inclusion in the Lessons Learned System on a timely
and ongoing basis.
  • Ensuring that Completions Readiness Reviews etc. are
performed at the relevant stages of the project.
  • Ensuring that Completions personnel assigned to
projects within the Region prepare written
procedures required for the Project and that they
are produced in accordance with contractual
requirements and the milestones specified in the
Contract.
  • Ensuring that completions work performed by project
teams complies with Global Level 2, applicable
Atlantic Region and project specific procedures.
  • Ensuring that Lessons Learned are entered into the
Lessons Learned System on a timely and ongoing
basis.
  • Ensuring that McDermott and Client safety policies
and procedures, as appropriate, are followed by all
project assigned Completions personnel on the
project.

Job Requirements:Education:
  • Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in an EPC environment,
preferably within senior Completions roles;
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience is required;
  • A strong focus on the development of HSE awareness
and HSE management is essential;
  • You will have proven competency in
multi-disciplinary construction, maintenance and
operations activities, with strong leadership and
interpersonal skills, and a sound knowledge of
project delivery processes;
  • You will have a broad understanding of the EPIC
business, and be able to manage complex stakeholder
relationships.

Experience:
  • 20+ years experience with completions planning and
execution and management of large teams preferred

Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills with basic knowledge
of Microsoft Office computer applications i.e.
Outlook, Word, Excel.
