Primary responsibility for all operations of Oracle EBusiness Suite 11i/R12 at WMS. This includes management of production, test & development and other database instances, application infrastructure availability and database planning and operations. Responsibility for database design, integrity and security. Liaison to business analysts, business units, end users and Oracle. Management of duties and training of Principal Database Administrator I. Prioritization in pressure situations, patch decision making and just-in-time support of user issues will be an important part of the job.
Essential Job Functions:
Bring a solid production environment to the next level as the business evolves and grows
Drive strategy, thought leadership, and own the decision for key initiatives then drive projects to completion
Support day-to day operations: installations, upgrades, patches, cloning, troubleshooting, backups, tuning, monitoring, on-call rotation, capacity planning, performance testing
Work closely with developers and business users on requirements, system analysis, design and implementation of new features and systems
Explore database code, structures, jobs and processes -- Challenge assumptions, drive enhancements, and help us evolve
Manage complex database environments; own the hardest problems, find the solutions
Ensure the quality, consistency and security of company data and database systems in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements
Guide disaster recovery planning and testing
Provision, maintain and update entire Oracle infrastructure according to business need
Backline user support, troubleshooting and development issue support
Business solution and/or development project support and vendor interaction
Database analysis, reporting, design and long-range planning
Backup and recovery, disaster planning, security analysis and reporting
Maintain and Support Fusion Middleware components which includes SOA, Agile PLM and OID
Maintain and support all the R12 Production and Non-Production Environments in a highly available Real Application Cluster(RAC) environment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
All other projects and duties as assigned
Minimum of 8 years of enterprise Oracle DBA experience in a Linux environment
Mastery of the tools of the trade: Oracle 10g/11g databases including Data Guard, RMAN, and replication; OLTP and data warehouse concepts and strategies; data modeling; database design, performance tuning, and OEM
Experience with Oracle RAC a plus
Experience with Oracle 12 EBS a plus
Experience with SSO and Shell Scripting
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Intimate knowledge and demonstrable expertise with database planning
Record of solid operations management
Troubleshooting skill and ability to coordinate with systems staff
Proven record of good judgment in solving problems and handling technical challenges
Ability and desire to work with technical and non-technical people
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer service acumen and effective company communications
Self-motivated and willingness to work long hours and off-hours
