SENIOR PRINCIPAL READINESS ANALYST
Primary Responsibilities: This position is Part-time. The successful candidate will become a key member of a Pentagon based analytical team supporting the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Readiness. The candidate will extract, integrate and analyze data from all available sources in Department of Defense (DoD) producing strategic, operational, and tactical readiness information to improve DOD’s ability to manage readiness and operational risk, work across interagency and community boundaries, and help to build a true, integrated, and national pictures of readiness.
The successful candidate will support research on readiness policies, trends, and issues within the Department; provide advice and support on congressional issues; and advise on studies concerning the Department and military readiness. When required, time-sensitive readiness reports and new analytical products will be developed and implemented to accurately portray the availability and mission readiness of the Armed Forces.
The successful candidate will support the identification of readiness deficiencies and mitigation options. Results and outcomes will be communicated with the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Readiness, the Deputy Management Action Group, the Department of Defense, and to Congress in the form of analytic briefs, narratives, and reports, to include the Quarterly Readiness Report to Congress. This requires coordination with stakeholders throughout the Department in support of capability and risk assessments, rapid planning assessments, analysis of alternative courses of action, and modeling and forecasting of readiness challenges.
• The successful candidate will possess a BA/BS and 12 plus years of directly related experience or MA/MS and 10 years of directly related experience in DOD planning, training, exercises, and readiness assessment, and high level staff experience at Service, Joint, OSD or other Department level. Air Force readiness, assessment, reporting and Staff experience a plus.
• Knowledge of and experience with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) a plus.
Clearance: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret level clearance.
