Executes complex assignments requiring overall planning, coordination, and execution of process design activities including analysis of system hydraulics, mass and heat transfer calculations, and design/evaluation of process unit operations. Operates independently with department management oversight. Provides leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Coordinates and/or performs project duties including process simulation, development of heat and material balance calculations, and preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Leads in the development and design of major projects, requiring the use of advanced techniques, and the evaluation of new or improved processes, equipment and technologies. Includes design leadership, marketing and project management responsibilities. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients, vendors, technology providers and outside personnel. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous E&C and/ or consulting experience preferred. Licensed Professional Engineer.
