As a Senior Product Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for a broad Software platform, engage with customers to understand their needs / requirements, assembled development plans, and execute plans to deliver technology, expertise, and platform upgrades.
In addition, you will:
Establish the vision and strategic plan for a defined set of Software products. Share responsibility for strategy and execution of product roadmaps and New Product Introduction (NPI)
Co-lead development of the platform to ensure commercial viability, guarantee commercial focus by communicating & building rapport with rail customers, and drive integration efforts among platforms to maximize customer value
Develop, manage, execute, and motivate product line management team on strategies, tactics, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results
Integrate and develop processes to meet business needs, participate in long-term planning, manage complex issues, and contribute to the overall business
Manage relationships across multi-functional entities, including Marketing, Sales, Operations, IT, Services, & Engineering while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
Ensure financial, delivery and quality commitments are met or exceeded per contractual guidelines
Define and lead appropriate segmentation and positioning strategies for the software
Develop, execute, and motivate others on strategies, tactics, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results
Manage key business financial performance indicators to ensure growth objectives are obtained
Prepare and present project proposals to Management for discussion and approval under deal review / investment review framework
Work with Sales team to promote successful sale of integration & support services
Present finished work in a “client-ready” manner
Prepare and deliver succinct, clear and insightful executive-level presentations
Demonstrate critical thinking including the evaluation of ideas and the synthesis of information into insights
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline
Minimum of 15 years product-line management or product marketing experience
Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, or as required

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a Software development related discipline
Six Sigma training (GE Employees only)
Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skill
Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with other GE businesses
Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas
Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
Proven ability to work globally
Experience leading both direct and matrixed / cross-functional teams to deliver results
Experience in rail operations, rail control systems, intermodal transport or transportation oriented supply chain processes and software applications or similar related experience
Demonstrated aptitude for a leadership and product line ownership role in a highly dynamic cross-functional environment
Proficiency in Product Management / Marketing including: market trends /analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management
Strong oral and written communication skills
Leadership skills to lead teams and shape / lead growth vision and marketing strategy
Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers; and work effectively within a matrix environment
