Grooveshark is seeking a visionary product manager who's favorite activity is 'shipping.' This role will report directly to senior product management. This individual should be a driven, proven leader who is excited about driving a product that is changing an industry.

Effectively serving as the "CEO of your product" by prioritizing projects to drive toward measurable business goals.
Maintaining and communicating an effective product strategy that meets internal business goals and external market needs
Driving projects from start to completion, assuming different responsibilities at various steps in the process, including:
Serving as a "hub of the wheel" between the Engineering, Senior Management, Community Relations, Marketing, and Sales teams to facilitate alignment of product priorities with business goals
- Writing product specs
- Communicating with other teams & departments
- Holding meetings and taking notes
- Hashing out quick mockups
- Prioritizing tasks
- Testing the product; looking for bugs
- Recruiting and onboarding new developers & designers
- Communicating with users
- Conducting research & data analysis
Providing resources, boundaries, and decisions to create conditions that allow for each designer or developer to focus on a single problem at a time
Experience having shipped something of significance
Sharp, quick decision maker
Able to think about products strategically, including how to stay ahead of competitors
Technical background and ability to enjoy diving deep into technical details
Great instinct about what makes a product a great product
Ability to channel and synchronize multiple points of view
Leadership skills rather than managerial skills (e.g., leading without "direct line authority") -- must be engaging, persuasive, positive and upbeat, and able to command respect from designers and developers
Ability to think big, communicate clearly, and be able to effectively simplify (e.g., follow the 80/20 rule)
Great at prioritizing and sequencing projects
An aesthetic eye, and an ability to understand good design (but does not need to be a designer per se)
Ability to write effective copy to convey product requirements and strategy
Desire for and the ability to dive into the details to do whatever it takes to get a project completed successfully
Well-versed in software engineering practices
An equal understanding of people and products
