Senior Product Manager
The MCG smartphone reference design product manager is responsible for developing the business strategies, roadmaps and product plans for Intel�s Smartphone reference designs.
� Smartphone product strategy; market requirements documents, landing zones, and system/platform requirements.
� Establish and drive vision, goals, and top priorities for each Smartphone system and platform.
� Drive user experience -> requirements (MRDs & landing zones) -> use case definition
� Keep product to on an annual cadence; drive risk reduction efforts as needed
� Manage definition, feature prioritization and new feature opportunities, based on customer/market impact, technical risks, and other strategic & financial considerations
� Closely engage architecture and engineering to close the platform definition and plans.
� Drive FFRD, CDK, board plans w/ product development team
� Manage power management, PnP, thermals for each system & platform via product planning team
� Drive product planning teams; ensure all product elements are in lock-step, ie, SW, apps, SoC, modem, CWS, etc.
� Drive product milestones from front end planning to transition to execution team to product launch
� Gather platform requirements and customer feedback via direct OEM and SP engagements through close coordination w/ MD&BD
� The ideal candidate will leverage a combination of business acumen, organizational savvy, and expertise in key technical areas to guide a successful platform
� Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical
A strategic planner needs to be exposed to and recognized by the organization and top management as an authority in their area and respected by their peers both in the industry and across Intel. They should possess a technical degree (MS or equivalent preferred) & MBA or technical master�s degree with more than 10+ years of experience. Demonstrated strategic and product planning experience is a must.
Additional qualifications include:
� Prior work history with smartphone planning and execution is a must and a background with companies such as Nokia, RIM, Motorola, HTC, Samsung, Apple, etc., is a must.
� Experience working with technical, product and marketing teams to define and deliver leading smartphones is a must.
� 10+ years experience in technical roles with experience in the smartphone space
� 5+ years in strategic planning, product definition or product management roles for smartphones
� Experience in presenting to VP-level Intel management on key topics
� In-depth knowledge of smartphone technologies and markets
� A strong understanding of the Smartphone competition and the ecosystem is a must at both the business and the technical level.
� Ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas
