Having built an industry-leading multi-channel campaign execution and optimization platform, Rocket Fuel is now enjoying spectacular growth. We are looking to expand our product management team to build the next generation of digital advertising products and services leveraging our industry-leading “big data” infrastructure and machine learning algorithms.
This role with a focus on ‘big data’ and artificial intelligence will drive several key areas in Rocket Fuel’s ad platform such as data management services, integration with first-party and third-party data partners, self-serve data segmentation tools, data quality analysis, predictive modeling enhancements, bid optimization, “system health” dashboards and modeling pipeline.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Own requirements definition and deployment of key product features in Rocket Fuel's data infrastructure and machine-learning platform
Partner closely with large enterprises and data partners to integrate first-party and third-party audience data into Rocket Fuel data infrastructure
Review workflows of highly complex Ad and Marketing products, develop new methodologies, and automate to optimize data usage, model performance, campaign delivery, and overall customer satisfaction
Work with agency, direct advertisers and ad network customers to document and prioritize product specifications including goals, use cases, requirements, and supporting operational workflows
Define, analyze, and communicate a product roadmap aligned with business objectives, and supported by business cases, market research, customer data and competitive analysis Communicate development plans and delivery expectations to all key stakeholders.
Work with the Product Marketing team to develop a robust sales kit including presentations, briefs, FAQs, and other related collateral
Lead internal training programs that describe the capabilities and benefits for our products & solutions
Lead a cross-functional team of business owners and engineers to refine the feature set and evolve the solution using Agile methodologies
Required Skills & Attributes
Proven experience in managing products that scale to petabytes of data and drive optimization and insights based on that large dataset
Experience in or at least interest in open source “big data” technology stack – Hadoop/Hive/HDFS/Hbase
Experience in delivering a flexible & scalable Web platform to business users such as in an enterprise or online advertising environment
Knowledge of online advertising business models with focus on DSP, self-serve tools, targeting, attribution and optimization challenges.
Experience in social media and other channels such as video / mobile is an advantage.
Experience with artificial intelligence, predictive modeling and data mining is desirable.
Strong analytical skills including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and data manipulation. SQL knowledge a strong plus.
Structured thinker, able to harness chaos into a logical architecture.
Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
High degree of creativity, self-motivation, and drive.
Eagerness to work in a start-up team environment that will be rapidly changing.
Ability to manage projects with engineering, operations and analytics teams.
5+ years in product management.
2+ years in online advertising-oriented businesses.
BS or BA required; MBA, MS or other advanced degree desirable.
Computer Science background is a strong plus.
