Senior Product Manager - Applications/Security/Media

They must be able to engage extensively with customers while working cross functionally internally with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Corporate Marketing and Alliance Partners in order to successfully prioritize product requirements and bring to market the products that our customers need.

Job Summary:
The Product Manager for Applications/Security testing will focus on solutions running on a multitude of different hardware and virtualized platforms. Our customers include network equipment vendors, service providers and carriers, and enterprise/government accounts, each with their own specific needs and expertise of testing. The Product Manager has overall responsibility for requirements analysis and prioritization, roadmap and release management, while continually aligning product roadmap to customer requirements.

Responsibilities:
The Product Manager will primarily be responsible for looking holistically at cyber security testing including areas of attack and threat mitigation, security services, secure networking (SSL/IPsec/MACSEC), and security policy management markets as they pertain to Test & Measurement and understand the key gaps and opportunities to develop a product evolution/vision translated into product roadmaps, and driving cross-functional teams towards execution of the vision. Other technical areas of product responsibility will also be made available to this candidate.

The role has in-bound product management responsibility for defining and driving the Spirent Networks and Applications cyber security product roadmap that results in value-add product offerings. The role requires a broad skill set that leverages experiences in product development, quality assurance, datacenter, service provider and enterprise infrastructure. This includes driving the product requirements definition process, working with the engineering team and other product managers to manage the product development process. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to distill the key issues from complex problems. Additionally the Product Manager will also be integral part of customer issue escalation and problem resolution internal process.

• Create and maintain competitive strategy that incorporates detailed knowledge of network cyber security markets, devices (hardware and virtual based), solutions and technologies.
• Create and maintain competitive strategy that incorporates detailed knowledge network storage market.
• Translate customer requirements into documented use cases and product requirements for engineering.
• Establish relationship with industry security forums, working groups, and third party test labs.
• Managing the product lifecycle process from inception through product launch and delivery to EOL.
• Develop product collateral, including presentations to sales engineers and easy to understand datasheets for customers.
• Work closely with sales to identify and address broad industry and product trends.

Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience at a network equipment manufacturer, large scale data center, or service provider with networking security responsibilities.
• Demonstrated record of defining and driving to launch successful products.
• Domain experience in layer 4-7 protocols.
• Knowledge of key technologies: TCP/IP networking and Internet technologies such as: PPP, IPsec, SSL, 802.1x, MACSEC, Firewall technologies, IPS/IDS technologies, cyber security attack and malware understanding.
• Experience with Test & Measurement tools like Spirent, Ixia, Swifttest, and others.
• Ability to learn new technologies related to a wide range of application layer testing including storage, media, and web technologies.
• BS in Computer Science or related technical degree, MBA preferred.
• Experience in Agile method of software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong awareness of technology trends and potential influence on Spirent business.
• Must be able to demonstrate both a passion for technology and a strong aptitude for business strategy.
• Travel up to 25 % of time.
