BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for San Diego's Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Sr. Production Associate, DNA Synthesis to work for a leading San Diego biotechnology company.

Sr. Production Associate, DNA Synthesis

Required Skills

Work within a production-based DNA synthesis and assembly pipeline as well as DNA sequencing pipelines for verification of synthetic DNA clones.

Works closely with internal scientists on DNA synthesis and sequencing needs.

Operate at a consistent and exemplary level of efficiency, producing high quality and accurate results.

Perform specialized tasks as trained in an independent fashion, requiring minimal ongoing direction.

Customer driven focus and willingness to manage numerous projects at once.

Interfaces with scientific team members in order to understand new methods pertaining to company technologies.

Willingness to constantly innovate and reduce costs without sacrificing quality standards.

Maintain records of laboratory activities and notebooks in a professional, accurate manner. Maintain records as per Company, QSR, GMP and ISO guidelines.

Applies best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects.

Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job. Has awareness of defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification, manufacturing and testing activities

Required Experience

BA/BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or related discipline.

MA/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or related discipline.

Five or more years of experience utilizing or manufacturing molecular biology tools in an industrial (Biotech/Pharma/Medical Device) or academic work environment.

Proven utilization of QA/QC methodologies.

Experience managing numerous projects simultaneously.

Experience with yeast assembly a plus.

Hands-on experience within high-throughput genomic pipelines.

Experience operating automated laboratory equipment a plus (e.g. QPix, Biomek, ABI 3730 XL DNA Sequencer, Next-Gen sequencing, etc.).

Firm understanding of molecular biology techniques.

Familiar with computational biology tools (BLAST, Vector NTI).

Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations a plus, e.g. QSR's, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR
