Parsons Brinckerhoff’s New York or Newark, NJ office has an opening for a Senior Manager, Client Services/ Senior Professional Manager. The Senior Manager, Client Services will be responsible for the development of business and successful execution of work for the Aviation Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ).

The Senior Manager, Client Services/Senior Professional Manager will be accountable the long term growth plan for the company in terms of the PANYNJ-owned and/or operated airports in the New York Aviation Market. The focus for the Senior Manager Client Services will be the PANYNJ Aviation Department and he/she will also be responsible for execution and project management of planning/design projects; he/she will be responsible for marketing across all phases of service of the Aviation Market.

The Senior Manager, Client Services is responsible for:
  • Working closely with the New York Area Manager (AM), the East Business Development Leader, the Aviation Core Management Team, the PANYNJ Client Team and Northeast Regional Manager relative to PANYNJ aviation pursuits and projects.
  • Marketing and sales, revenue, work product quality, execution of work, project management and oversight, public speaking and presentations.
  • Executing/managing/leading projects and providing strategic and high level technical advice on projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing
  • Leads the client relationship efforts for PANYNJ Aviation Department enabling PB to become a trusted advisor to the leadership of that client.
  • Works with Aviation Core Management, Northeast Regional Manager, New York Area Manager, PANYNJ Client Team and the East Business Development Leader to identify and capitalize upon opportunities at the PANYNJ, Aviation Department. Additionally, he/she will work with other departments within the PANYNJ such as Engineering, related to airport projects for the PANYNJ. Is an integral member of the PANYNJ Client Relationship Management team.
  • Develops capture plans for PANYNJ aviation pursuits.
  • Assists with the preparation of a monthly update to our tactical action plans for PANYNJ.
  • Cross-markets other PB capabilities.
  • Attends local industry events focusing on aviation projects and future plans, etc.

  • Sales
  • Establishes specific sales goals for PANYNJ Aviation Department, commensurate with company goals for the Aviation Market and with PANYNJ Client Team annual financial goals.
  • Works closely with the Aviation Core Management Team, Northeast Regional Manager, New York Area Manager, PANYNJ Client Team and East Business Development Leader in making Go/No Go decisions related to PANYNJ Aviation Department pursuits.
  • Leads pursuits for projects at PANYNJ Aviation Department.

  • Financial
  • Provides advice and expertise for the continued development of the strategic plan related to aviation at the PANYNJ for attaining long-term geography goals including assisting Aviation Core Management, and Northeast Regional Manager in acquisition needs and other corporate actions to support strategy.
  • Works closely with the Aviation Core Management Team, Northeast Regional Manager, New York Area Manager and East Business Development Leader in preparing marketing budgets for the geography in terms of the Aviation Market related to PANYNJ.
  • Implements client relationship efforts within approved budget such as activities that lead to a broad understanding of PANYNJ Aviation Department’s upcoming capital program and named opportunities for all airports owned by PANYNJ.

  • Technical
  • Technically competent to successfully perform on and deliver projects identified for pursuit in the Aviation Market, specifically for planning, design, and program management phases of service.
  • Possess managerial and communication skills commensurate with needs of pursuits and projects relative to marketing, sales, and financial responsibilities defined herein.
  • Capable of providing advice, insight, and depth of knowledge for successful completion of projects
  • Capable of preparing scope for project, reviewing contract requirements of project, and developing appropriate budget/schedule for projects,
  • Capable of negotiating scope, schedules, and fees on behalf of the company.
  • Capable of serving as Principal-in-charge on projects including fiduciary responsibilities.


  • Job Requirements

    Experience/Education:
    The applicant for the position of Senior Manager will have a BA/BS degree in aviation, planning, engineering or a related field. Graduate degree in appropriate discipline is strongly preferred. The applicant will have a minimum of 20-25 years experience in aviation planning/engineering or other related technical profession. The applicant must have a thorough understanding of the market and business development aspects of the airports owned by the PANYNJ. Familiarity with PANYNJ history and culture and with local NYC/NJ political environment, industry and civic organizations, as they relate to aviation would be beneficial. The applicant must have experience in marketing, sales, project management, negotiations, presentations/public speaking, and supervision of technical work performed by others.

    Ability to work within the United States immediately required.
    Position is based in NYC or Newark, NJ
