POSITION TITLE: Senior Program Manager
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Program Evaluations
The Senior Program Manager will plan and execute military evaluation visits and procedures from planning to final product. This includes: serving as main point of contact for military personnel; selecting team of subject matter specialists to serve as evaluators; requesting, tracking, and assigning initial disposition of submitted course materials; identifying discrepancies and communicating with Associate Director and military personnel to reconcile prior to site visit; and assigning travel, accommodation, and informational requirements to Administrative Assistant.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES OR TASKS:
Travel with team on course/occupation evaluation visits. The Program Manager will serve as a resource for evaluation team and military personnel; verify accuracy of course materials, reconcile discrepancies, and make final determination of courses to be evaluated; ensure team has written appropriate credit recommendations and descriptions, including justification of credit recommendations when necessary; and input course and occupation data into 4D data system while on site.
Collaborate with internal and off-site data administrators and consultants to discuss and request needed improvements to data systems; maintain integrity of data using 4D, OnBase, and Excel software systems; assist with maintenance of all course and occupation data to include editing, proofing, parsing, and production of contract required reports.
Proofread materials for inclusion in the Guide to the Evaluation of Education Experiences in the Armed Services (online); update supplemental materials for department handbooks and other publications in the Center for Lifelong Learning; participate in the writing of pertinent articles for publication; and manage and update a comprehensive information booklet. Respond to daily telephone, fax, and email queries from outside agencies.
Develop, under the supervision of Assistant Director, workshop programs and materials. Exhibit at workshops for military education professionals, registrars, and admissions officers. Coordinate regional and local meetings. Serve as a source of information to college and university officials and military personnel on the use of the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services, AARTS and SMART transcripts, evaluation procedures, and possible application of credit recommendations.
Collaborate with other program evaluation and Information Technology departments to serve as primary administrator for the evaluator/reviewer portion of the ART database. This includes creating, implementing, and managing procedures to collect, record, and enter new and/or current evaluators; developing automated reporting tools to produce electronic data listings, correspondence, summary tables, and advanced statistical analyses; and maintain integrity of data through routine audits.
The manager will work collaboratively with all staff from the Center for Lifelong Learning.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s (or equivalent experience) required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in discipline or relevant area. Advanced degree may substitute for some work experience.
Demonstrating office management skills including: organizing and implementing multiple complex issues and tasks; strong verbal and written communications; editing and proofreading responsibilities. Experience with relational database administration and common software applications (4D and MS 2000 experience a plus). Strong consideration given to candidates with experience and knowledge dealing with transcripts, and post secondary curriculum.
