Aerojet, the premier company providing missile and space propulsion, is seeking a motivated, capable senior program planner to support program managers with program planning, schedule development and tracking, resource coordination, customer interfaces and contractual reporting, cost and earned value management, and general program management tasks to ensure the timely delivery of products and supporting documentation.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
The successful candidate will be able to work in a dynamic product development environment; be able to effectively interface with manufacturing, test, and engineering personnel; be self-motivated and directed; and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments. Typical duties will include:
30% - Developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedule including material procurement plans and fabrication schedules.
30% - Cost monitoring and trend analyses.
20% - Coordinating work plans among functional disciplines (supply chain, manufacturing, test, and engineering), monitoring progress against established schedule, and expediting and resolving issues when they arise.
10% - Preparing written and verbal contract status and deliverable reports for customer.
10% - Developing program plans.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in addition to the skills to plan and organize work assignments to meet designated schedules. Also requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and database interfaces and Microsoft Project. Candidate should have a working knowledge of manufacturing and MRP systems and bills of materiel. Candidate should have a working knowledge of Earned Value Management and cost accounting. Also needed is the demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with multi-disciplinary team members and strong written and verbal communication skills.
