In this position you will be involved with technical and management aspects of geotechnical engineering projects and explorations. The work will consist of analyzing, designing, and effectively communicating geotechnical issues on large engineering and construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for solid, technically sound designs, assessments, and documents to clients.
  • Perform technical review from a geotechnical perspective on project deliverables.
  • Perform moderate to high complexity geotechnical analysis on a wide variety of situations.
  • Conduct geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design with little oversight.
  • Effectively communicate geotechnical issues as part of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Take lead in preparing complex geotechnical documents.
  • Meet changing schedules and deadlines during construction.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, deliverables and priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Show initiative taking on new assignments and doing more than expected.
  • Assist with developing potential opportunities within existing contracts.
  • Assist in preparing concise, well-written proposal elements (i.e., project descriptions, resumes, etc.).
  • Take ownership of assignments, communicate status, and see them through completion.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a 4-year college or university in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • 8 years of geotechnical design and construction experience.
  • Experience with geotechnical software such as GINT, PCSTABLE, SHAKE, UNSAT.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, deliverables and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits an ability to analyze problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them. Demonstrates ability to use critical thinking in solving problems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to project sites, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (i.e., M.S.) Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience in geoenvironmental engineering projects such as landfills and environmental remediation.
  • Licensed Geotechnical Engineer (G.E.).
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher.
